Brand new PC on existing BB through STB

Helping a friend put his new PC together.

He has an existing bb connection through STB.

Is the process of connecting his PC to the net the same as it was the first time?

E.g. will he need his documentation for pin numbers etc?

Short answer is you have to register the new PC with the STB.
