View Full Version : NTL News Servers
:grind:
I made a bit of a song & dance last year about accessing news groups via the news.ntlworld.com.
Could anyone with the requisite knowlege inform us whether NTL
has actually improved the situation.
I thought I remembered that an upgrade was on course for financial year 2003-2004.
I usually try to access every night but usually get rejected/denied
most times. Usually only once a week/2 weeks is normal.
God forbid! as I write this I tried access & I got in.
:smokin:
Have you tried text.ntlworld.com , I think that one's not too bad. :)
Personally I have given up, I now use Google when I want to read and post. Its not the most elegant solution but keeps me up to date on the ones I like.
Oh, and sorry I don't know about the upgrades, but from what I have seen on here I don't think so.
ntl introduced the cap to help the news servers etc
or am i. wos i. did i dream that statement :D

agree with you about the text server:)
have you tried teranews or astraweb?
newsgroups in news.cache & newscache "seem" to be a little better, lately?

Probably cos a lot of people have given up on them and gone elsewhere! It saves NTL the cost of upgrading them, which was probably the idea! :D
