2006!

If you bought one would you have to keep it in your garage for 11.5 months before you could use it?

AndrewJ
22-01-2005, 15:07
Yes then awaiting for valve (steam) to update, and then for it to crash and require memory upgrades, and then for a service pack to start the engine, only to be told your key is invalid and you need to go buy another model.

:D

Nice car though love the lines. Bit of a American Muscle Lover though myself.

Absolutely, it is shockingly similar

That is an old RAM. New ones are much nicer. As far as pickups go RAMs are the best I think.

If you aren't into trucks though, check out this (http://www.dodge.com/magnum/) which I think is a real nice car.

There is a newer model which i would upload here but it requires being brought down in size, 1.3mb is a little large. Going to walk the demon piddler...aka the dog now.

The dog which thinks its a big woof, and is a hilarious laugh when he gets going...

anyways back on topic will post the ram i want on here asap.

I thought it looked a bit like an Audi TT at the back?
Not bad though, I wouldn't mind one for going shopping in! :D

Looks like an Audi TT all over if you ask me! Although perhaps a bit more lush and a little less austere.

Chimaera
22-01-2005, 19:21
Mmmm I think the Audi is a bit more compact looking, or could it be that this one is lower? I'll wait for Jeremy (or the Stig) to thrash it round the test track on Top Gear!

AndrewJ

Jeremy Clarkson is hilarious to me, but some sadly find him offensive. Shame he has me on floor in stitches sometimes.

he has to have special shoes so he can reach the pedals, though :p:

Not bad mitsu would be interested to see whats under the bonnet, it could do with some serious poke. Shame it does look like abit of a cloned car. But it is a rare day when a japanese manufacturer does somthing 'different'.
Oh and Andrew i'd been building up some respect for you :-) but pickups Yuck. same to big american lumps, yuckty yuck yuck.

It is an icy hill. Pretty much everything will slide down it big or small. The bigger cars if anything have bigger tires and would have put up more resistance.

It was funny to see the people jumping out the car though.

Eclipses aren't very pokey though. If you want power you have to go for the Evo 8/9 or the new Colt Evo.

That is only stock though. It is really easy to pump some power in through the aftermarket.

Bigger tyres are bad for driving on ice, extra weight would actually help with grip, but also drag you down the hill more, they should really of at least had winter tyres on they would of faired better.

- I didn't like the car much - I prefer the Mazda RX8 ;) No, no, no, nooooo. My boss drives an RX8. Admittedly it goes flippin' quickly, but it's one helluva guzzler... I think he gets about 18mpg! Also, because it's a rotary engine, it doesn't have that all-important oomph factor when you floor it, it just kinda accellerates smoothly, quickly but smoothly.

The rear doors are pretty funny though ;)

Personally, I used to prefer an Imprezza, but they're now the car of choice for the Chavs in Swindon  so I think I'd prefer to have an Evo... or a Boxster.

Chimaera
22-01-2005, 21:20
A Boxster? Noooo - too bling bling!! Go for a Chimaera! ;)
Do you have rich Chavs in Swindon, then?

AndrewJ
22-01-2005, 21:37
What about a oldish Dodge Viper...or Lotus Elise..or Esprit, or perhaps a Merc SLK, or a AC Cobra 427, or the old skool BMW 6 series.

Gareth
22-01-2005, 22:30
Yeah, some of 'em are rich... well, actually, they're just massively in debt for the next 10 years! But if they can't get the cash from Dial-a-Loan, then instead of the Scooby they'll drive a Saxo 1.1 with obligatory under-car neon and blue washer jets.

Otherwise, because of the Employee Car Leasing Scheme at Honda, there's an abundance of Civic Sports driven by cap-wearing twa**.

some good choices there m'lado.
dodge viper tho  8 litre v10 which has the output of engines half its size yet 3x there weight.
The new 6 is allright, i'm not a big fan of the new bm's but they're not that bad, and under the skin they have some stonking engines.
The lotus esprit v8 was a good motor, i prefer the aston v8 vantage from that era though.
TVR cerbera is nice too, though the engine has a really funky torque curve for an n/a engine.

What i would like to see is a supercar using a turbo D, rumour has it bmw are developing a 4 litre v8. if its anything like they're 3l twin turbo in the 535d, it should be good. They will probably lump it in the 7 though.

Edit Looks like i was right just google'd it http://www.sae.org/automag/global_viewpoints/02.htm

Vauxhall already have with their VX car. If memory serves, they made it do 0-60mph in something like 3.5 seconds which isn't bad. Whilst gettin 60+ MPG

Going back to Richard Hammond, did you see the one that he bought?

db9, not bad car much better than the db7 imho. But here is a true aston pre ford buyout days.
http://www.vaizdas.lt/vaizdas/vaizdas/data/media/8/Aston_Martin_V8_Vantage_LeMans_99-001.jpg
The V8 Vantage based on the virage, in thats the final evolution of the car the 'le mans' spec. which included a 600hp twin supercharged v8. Quite possibly the manliest engine ever created. Much better than the motorbike sounding girly ferrari's
Too bad the eu banned the engine.

More info on the virage v8 vantage, http://www.astonmartins.com/virage/vanlm.htm

V8 vantage's have allways been a hoot, true class engineering. Whilst they may never of been that light not exceptionally good looking. They were designed from the ground up as a drivers car simply made to work and work well. Somthing the ferrari's at the time were not as they went for style before function and made it work later.
The latter link i gave has some good depth on the history of the car, to which i'm still to this day impressed by.
It weighs in at just under two tonnes, it is fully kitted out like a rolls royce comfort wise. Yet the 5.3L twin supercharge v8 gives it some serious wideband grunt as it accelerates 0-60 in some 4.6 seconds and officially tops out at 186mph but you could get a longer ratio box which would let you do 200mph+
oh and ... http://www.plus4.freeserve.co.uk/amorg/virage/am307.jpg  !

I remember the car was on a video that jeremy clarkson did where he took a bunch of supercars and dragged raced them down a runway, it didnt win time wise but boy did it win on noise
