View Full Version : Underbilled
I often hear of people being overbilled on this forum but does anyone ever get underbilled like me?
I've not long been a customer and just had my third monthly bill. I wasn't billed for my Broadband service or a Front Row movie on this latest one, and I wasn't billed for roughly my first week's phone calls on my first bill. Is it likely that they'll eventually realise this and bill me for these (I won't mind)?
Should I phone up and ask them about it, or just leave it, or will they just tell me not to worry if I do phone to ask?
I never query a bill if it's wrong in my favour. :)
Sadly, ntl are very good at not noticing if you get overcharged, but in my experience they are much better at noticing when you've not been charged enough. I had several bills where I thought they had forgotten to charge for me stuff, only to find out that eventually they always realised their error and charged me on following bills.

you might mind if it runs into hundreds of pounds when you least need it to , holding your hands up may well make it less painful in the long run ;) :D :D
If there's stuff missing on the next one then I will, but at the moment it's not enough to worry about.
I am in a similar position. But there is a time difference that i would like to find out about. I have had NTL digital service for over 5 years. First two years (aproximately) we ordered around 30 films but we have never been billed for it. I got a bit worried so we stopped ordering. Years after and we have still not received a bill for them. A friend mentioned that there is a section of the Consumers Act that indicates a limited period by which we should be billed but I have never seen it. I wonder if anyone is familiar with it? I emphasise that we are talking years of not being billed nether ordering films.
On one occasion an engineer came in to fix a little fault and saw the list of films that we have ordered. He said that NTL, for some reason, did not receive a signal that we have bought films. Is that information stored on the box or on a card? Can anybody help as we are scared to order any more films...
Interesting subject this, NTL have always failed to bill me the rcorrect amount, Iand I have spent months trying to tell them this, but they can never get it correct, they also lost our billing details for six months so never billed us well they did for ana anaolgue box we never had, they got so confused they wiped the slate and we started again, we fell into arrears with them (its a shared house getting everyone to pay on time is difficult). When we paid them they lost 20% of the amount outstanding, they are currently only charging us £17.99 a month for 1.5mbit broadband, and this is not for lack of tellign them... My plan now is to keep the money extra seperate, and if they ever get nancy about it, I will pay it, else I reckon I will have a nice little bonus one day in the future..
The Front Row movies appeared on the next bill, and since I changed my broadband package to 300k I've been billed correctly, but I still haven't paid for when it was 1.5M (Incidentally I checked my Tier of Service at https://autoreg.autoregister.net/cgi-bin/cablecheck and it seems I'm still getting a 1.5M service).
I just today received my third monthly bill today which has been way under what I should be paying. My bill was for £5.85 and thats for the Family Pack with 3 Front Row movies ordered.
Thing is i'm in a no win situation, if I
1. Phone up and delare i've been undercharged an have to pay up whats owed or
2. Sit it out and wait hoping to get away with it (no doubt next month I will have a bill for 70 odd quid).

In fairness, it's not just NTL - I didn't bother getting the $ky Prem Plus last season and just ordered the matches that I wanted individually (at 6 quid a pop). However, we have never been billed for them (pay by DD so even checked the bank statements) - I've just kept quiet about it.

Is your SkyDigital Box connected to a phone line? if it isnt then that is why you are not being charged, that or a faulty modem in the Box which is not dialling out and uploading the purchases, thats all well and good until you reach your credit limit and then wont be able to order any PPV's
