After recieving a NTL Broadband leaflet with my bill today I decided to sign up for their offer of 300k Broadband for £15.99 a month. They said a man will come round tomorrow morning and install it for me.
There is already an NTL cable run into my house, this was previously used for the set top box but is no longer in use. Can this cable be used for the broadband installation? Do TV and broadband installations use the same type of cable?

Also, will I be upgraded from 300k to 1MB anytime soon? :)

The same cable run should be capable of being used, though if you want it moved to a different part of the house ask.
Will you be upgraded, when the rest of us are? NTL have also indicated this may well require a payment, and will change to your contract to a capped contract.

Yes but after getting Broadband installed today and several hours of failed attempts by me at getting it registered using the CD, I phoned tech support for them to tell me the installation server is down and they don't know when it'll be back up. https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/local/2005/10/6.gif

Can the status of this server be checked online anywhere? https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/local/2005/09/21.gif

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d.h.walker/cmtips/register.html tells you all about registering including registering without the CD. That page gives the link for the registration URL.
