Hiya all thought of this while having my 100th Baileys drink.

Post some images here of your favourite cars in the world, or some custom jobs.

Few rules

1) No topless or nudity around the cars.

2) No Adult content with the cars in ANYWAY lets not get this shut down this is meant to be fun.

3) Keep heavy debate in pm lets not have a free for all.

And with the above, and anymore should a mod see fit I shall kick it off with some from my mega collection of images.

Nikko

I can't post a pic of my convertable then, as it contravenes rule 1) ;)

Someone said they liked the MR2 Toyota old shape?

Stuart
26-12-2004, 14:00
They are both Bond cars, but I find the Aston Martin Vanquish and the Lotus Esprit to be quite sexy.. The Esprit looks a bit dated now, but when you start the engine, by god does it sound like it means business..

ikthius
26-12-2004, 14:02
That would be me......I love the Toyota MR2 Mk 2, it is the best car of all time in my onion.... :D

ik
p.s. here is another of my favs from last year

AndrewJ
26-12-2004, 14:23
Both are very classy cars. One of my favourites has to be this one though.

8mpg*

*when going downhill...in neutrel, with a following wind...and a push.*

But man what a vehicle.

ikthius
26-12-2004, 14:49
I don't think the esprit looks dated, I think it still looks the business.

ik

AndrewJ
26-12-2004, 14:59
The Esprit looks Old Skool now, with fancy Aero Dynamic lines and vents and Carbon Fibre bodywork with high comp pistons and supercharged computerised injection systems.

Take the old shape Mazda Rx-7 into consideration still a mega fast car today, and uses the ****al engine, a engine without pistons, mega fun to drive.

Just that engine name ( please no puns lets keep it clean ) :erm:

AndrewJ
26-12-2004, 16:12
Another nice vehicle, is this pickup truck.

3.6litre v8 engine

NO,

I am not a fan of german cars, I prefer:

Toyota MR2 mk2
Mazda 6 TS2, RX8
Honda Civic typeR, Accord typeR, S2000, Integra typeR
Ferrari 360 Modena (fav), Testerossa
Lamborghini Countach, Diablo, Mercialugo (spelling)
Mitsubishi EVO 8 (I want one)
Lexus IS200
Hyundai Coupe
Astin Martin DB series (vanquish)
Seat Leon 1.8 v20 (owned by a german company I know, I have a 1.6 s)
Audi TT (only german car I would like)
McLaren F1
Lotus Esprit, elise (and newer)

that's all I can think of
I hate:
Mercedes, BMW, pick ups, Hummers

more to follw, I need to think/see what I like and dislike.

In case anyone is wondering, that red pick up in #59 is the Dodge Ram SRT-10. (http://www.dodge.com/srt-10/index.html)

It is a regular Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, but with the Dodge Viper engine and tranny. It is 500hp, making it the world's fastest production truck (Unless Ford produces their new SVT Lightning in 06/07), with performance like the Viper, and stops in the same space as a WRX which is incredible especially for a pickup. And it is only $46,000. God I love this country. The UK is so ridiculously anti-car. ATM $45k = 23k quid. What will that get you back in the UK?

AndrewJ
27-12-2004, 17:46
Dont know, dont care, just give me the truck :D

So love that bad boy machine..

Engine sound is dreamy aswell, mainly due to me being sick of high revvy engines, give me big CC and lots of tourque.

That's why America accounts for more than 45% of the world's pollution (while accounting for less than 5% of the world's population)...

Anyway, surely the Mini Cooper S (which admittedly doesn't have the carrying capacity) would out-perform it while costing £15,000 ?

AndrewJ
27-12-2004, 18:00
not the speed mate.

Just the power...that sound...that size...that look...

For those who like it then its a nice car, very inpratical and likely to make your wife leave you beacause of Fuel Bill ( no shoes! you mad i want a divorce  )

Ah, I don't normally watch TG these days, but I caught a bit of this one with the Ariel Atom and that is one *seriously* insane bit of kit!

IIRC it costs about £22,000 , does 0-60 in *two point nine seconds* (if you didn't see it you should have seen the effects of the G-forces on Jeremy Clarkson!) and their driver Stig took it around their test track in a speed that put it in second place on their list of cars *ahead* of the Porsche Carrera and only just behind half a million quid's worth of Ferrari!

Performance is nothing like equal. the 0-60 of the supercharged model is 7 seconds. Fast by UK standards, but not really in the big picture. The fastest budget cars in the UK are the WRX STI and the Evo, which are £30k each. In the US they are $30k, and that isn't even taking into account insurance and petrol, which are much cheaper in the US too.

And here we go. The old you-have-a-car-so-you-are-destroying-the-world guilt trip. You should be guilt tripping people with older cars and trucks as they are nothing like as clean as modern vehicles.

not everyone likes the new style of BMW, and even fewer like the normal attitude of the cars drivers.

But the cars are lovely to drive esp the big lazy engined models with electronics for everything.

I wonder if the 'Ariel' tag signifies a revolution in design like the motorbikes did, but was never recognised - why did the 'square 4' fail & the honda 4 succeed - apart from the handling, of course.......

The 250cc twin two stroke was the nearest to a 'racing' bike for the era, that I remember - even better than Matchless & the AJS csr14, sorry nostalgia isn't what it used to be ;)

The square 4 failed because the 2 rear pistons overheated & seized due to no airflow

The honda 4 succeeded coz all 4 pots were in the wind and they had a decent oil pump & a crankcase/gearbox that contained the pressure & the oil ;)

Having said that, some Arials were 'Leaders'
