seriously , i reckon this is the way to go , as long as it is going to work when everyone jumps onto it , i.e. loads of lag , madsville contention ratios , although i am sure they will have thought of all that im sure :spin: :spin: :spin: :spin:

Well I have registered my interest in this.
Just hope its good as they say and that the U/D speeds are near what they quote.

A couple of quotes from their site:
What speeds can I expect from broadband from Southern Electric?
In Stonehaven we will be providing internet access at as much as 1,000Kbps, thatâ₠¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s twice as fast as ADSL broadband services.
What is ADSL?
ADSL †“ Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line, is the broadband service currently provided by ISPââ‚Âà ‚¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢s via a telephone line. Typical download speeds are up to 500Kbps and upload speeds are up to 256Kbps compared with up to 1000Kbps in both directions from our broadband service.
ok i'm daft at his jargon is that gd or bad? lol :)
Its good!
It means its 2x faster download than adsl and 4x faster at upload
Saw something similar with "Hydro Electra".. Scottish, Never heard anything else about it though...
I could get this, mmmm ...me thinks...

Well its cheaper than NTLs 1mbit down, for a better upload....:D
but would it work with XBL

I Should think so :)
Edit : One thing I noticed with it though, was how it says "Up to speeds of 1000KB/s.. Does that mean it wont always attain these speeds? At least with cable you usually always attain the speed (Except on certain NTL occasions ;))..
Will it be just as good as cable for gaming? With Latency, etc..

I suppose it would depend on your pwoer network and how many people had it in theory it should work fine with liveas it is a broadband connection...... But we will ahve to see maybe you could contact them and ask them!

Dont forget that during the adverts of Corry/Eastenders etc there will be a marked drop in speed etc as all those kettles go on.

One thing to remember is if this takes off, get a good surge protector or your PC and/or Xbox will blow up!!!:D
