Since pop seems to be the subject tonight, here is a quick question.

In the UK, only two "one hit wonders" have sold more than 1 million copies, what are they ?

Is it one million combined or for each record?

Because if it's separate, won't it have to be an old song (20yrs or more), as aren't the current No 1s are lucky to get around 300,000 sales?

Punky and BB31 - sorry, but no.

Mal - each of the records sold 1 million or more.

okay - I can see google straining under the queries from here ;) One was in the 1970's, the other in the 1990's. The one in the 1990's sold more and is therefore the highest selling (uk) one hit wonder.

I know you cheated because the site (which is where this came from) has made a typo, which you have copied and pasted. :p: :p:

The typo in that answer is the year - it was a hit in 1973, not 1970.
