In my previous dial up con I used little dialers plugged into the phone socket ,to dial 1263, should I still be using them as well as the filters at each phone socket

If you have ntl ADSL (Freedom), then all you need are ADSL filters in the phone sockets in your house (not dialler boxes from your old dial up connection)

The little dialers are for the phone , to connect to the ntl system . dialing 1263 connects BT line to ntl

Do you have ntl Freedom 56k dial up internet from ntl, or ntl Freedom 512k ADSL internet from ntl?

No need for a dialler now, your phone line automatically routes calls via ntl network.
