The Austin Allegro and the Vauxhall Viva. With furry dice and brown vinyl seats.
Bring back alliterative car names, I say.
[actually a mate of mine has a fantastic white Allegro, driving round London in that is a nostalgia trip all of its own. When it works]

A bit of nostalgia with my first car, an Austin A30 Somerset. Jowett cars (Javelin, Jupiter and the Bradford van) bring back fond memories as they were manufactures close to where I spent my childhood. One of the Jowett brothers worked with Angus Scott who produced this unusual vehicle http://pages.zoom.co.uk/elvis/scott.html

I like the Delorean - not sure if you'd call that a classic car tho :)

Cool......
I knew about the squirrel motorbike with water cooling and odd shape petrol tank, never heard about the sociable though.
Heres another one named Sociable, from the company normally associated with the AC Cobra muscle car designed by Carrol Shelby. They also made the toilet blue invalid carraiges in the 60-70's.

I was offered one of these for £25.00 in 1966, if only I had known then what it would be worth today.
The Traction Avant, anyone else remember "Inspector Maigret"
My dad has a 1958 Ford 300 in the States. It is really rare. I'll ask him to e-mail some pics over if anyone is interested, but looks much like the 57 Chevy Bel-air. The car (not my dad's one though) was in the Devine Secrets OF The Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Here (http://www.memorylaneclassiccars.com/1958Ford/1958_ford_sedan_300) is a similar one. My dad's one is 4 door will little changes here and there because his was restored.
Me personally, I like the AC cobra (undoubtedly the best old car ever). I also like the old American muscle cars. The late 60's Camaros, the early 70's 'Vettes. They get those cars while we get... Ford Anglia. Vauxhall Cresta. Morris Minor 1000. The best classic english car apart from the old E-type and and the old Aston Martins were like the Triumph Stag.
I used to like the Bradley GT kit car. It was a low cost sports car that used VW Beetle chassis as a base, at a time when used Beetles were cheap to pick up. It looked like a mini Corvette of the day.:)

keeping it relatively low key (although I drooled over the first Corvette I saw about 1968) the cars I most liked were the Lotus Cortina & the Triumph Dolomite 'Sprint'.
Yes, the Dolomite Sprint was way ahead of it's time with that 16 valve engine. It wasn't until well into the 80s that 16v engines became popular e.g. Golf GTi
In these times of high petrol prices V8 cars are nice to dream about, especially if you have a Golf Diesel.:D
