Hi downquark 1
if your card is a radeon I would recommend the official ATI MMC 8.1 - the DVD player therein is a vast improvement on previous releases - I use it myself on a Radeon AIW 7200.
It's available from
http://www.blisware.co.uk/all_products_atiparts.htm
for less than £6, including postage
- only downside is it won't work with region free drives.

I seem to have got powerDVD with the computer. I was wondering if there was a better one for free.
for example, I got B's Recorder GOLD5 free with the CDRW, but it's slow, I like clonecd much better.

Nothing wrong with PowerDVD in my opinion. The ATI DVD player version 8.1 I mentioned is based on the same "engine". I use PowerDVD when I want to watch a movie late at night & need to use headphones - the Dolby Headphone feature does a damn good surround sound simulation.
- have you tried enabling the hardware acceleration option - it should work with your ATI graphics?
Power DVD is luverly :)
I play all my DVD's, mpg's, (S)VCD's through it
(watching last night's Firefly through it now :D )
NVDVD is lush, I used to use Powerdvd and apart from the interface there isn't much difference, both very good
Ok, just watch the last 5 minutes of yesterday's firefly, rassum frassum Sky EPG was wrong grrrr makes me feel like I'm back with NTL :P
