Helloooooo all, long time no see :-)

A few months back i had a problem wiv the congestion in my area, after a eternity of telephone calls to NTL, wiv no accepting blame and refusal to send out an engineer, my only option was to upgrade my from 512k connection to a 1mb connection....and suprise suprise the problem went.

But now its back!

I live in the LS13 area of Leeds and just during the last week it is imposible to play my online games on an evening and surfing the net is very slow indeed (Between 16:00-23:00).

Im getting 40%+ Packetloss and a ping of 200+

This is a trace i did tonite to my server-

and this a speed/bandwidth test which i did a number of times wiv more or less the same results

1st 128K took 2485 ms = 52745 Bytes/sec = approx 439 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 4218 ms = 31074 Bytes/sec = approx 259 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 10625 ms = 12336 Bytes/sec = approx 103 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 4563 ms = 28725 Bytes/sec = approx 239 kbits/sec

So before i phone up NTL and change my ISP for another more reliable one such as Pipex who dont just think about the £ÃÆ ’‚£Ãà¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£Ãƒââ‚ ¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£Ãƒâ€š £ÂÃâ €šÃ‚£'s and dont accept every Tom, Dick & Harry without thinking about the consequences it will cause wiv its existing members

Does anyone hav any ideas? :-)

I hav turned off my Spyware and Firewall and AntiVirus, and hav re-formatted my PC

Ive been upgraded to the 1.5mb connection but i wont b receiving this upgrade until everyone in Leeds has been given the new set-top box in November......another suprise which i was not told at the time.

and btw my neighbour has a 350k connection and before all this nonsense started how did he hav a ping of 20 and myself wiv the 1mb connection hav a ping of 30+?

Thx in advance

Regards

There's a severe imbalance on your UBR - that's the worst I've seen ever...

Very different faults sir, this one was sorted with the running of a script, yours is far more complicated to sort.
