I received a card form the post man asking me for £1.20 for a letter and have to pick it up from Huddersfield post office.

I called the post office and they have said on the letter it says NTL on the envolope.

Now should I go and pay £1.20 for the item (must be something big for that amount). or just leave it?

I have recently come onto 1mb Broad-band
(after being with ADSL for 2 years, i moved house and NTL have monopoly in my area and BT has no plans of introducing ADSL!!)

could it have something to do with my broad band?

or is it the usual junk mail?

could i claim the money back?

any help welcome.

It's not gonna be that big an item. If the post office charge the recipient they add a fee on top of what should have been there in stamps, for their "administration".

If you aren't expecting anything specific from ntl, have all the contract docs, use instructions, and t&cs of service you expected, your payment system is set up, I would let the post office return it to ntl. If it is important, ntl will get it back as undelivered or whatever, and eventually (if their systems work) would reissue it, hopefully paid next time!
