Some of you may remember the rants I had last year (on the .com forums) about cable modem reboots due to dodgy upstream levels (all faults outside of my property), which took about a year to fix, almost heading me off to ADSL...

Well, guess what?...

Yes, my flashing modem is back

I've been expecting this as the upstream level creaps towards the 58 limit, but it's been sitting there for months without a problem, but now it's been rebooting for a good hour now, and I'm forced to PAY for 1p/min dial-up (on top of my CM price).

Right, before I rant on and assume the thing's screwed again, could it be because I've just upgraded to 1Mbps? If so, then why the hell are NTL selling this rubbish if the network is not capable of keeping a damn connection at 1Mbps? I'll be after my money back and reverting to 600 if it's the case and if it still happens them I'm out of here and BT can have my business.

Why, why, why, why.
