Hello im a new customer of NTL and especially last week i ve got some serious problems with BB connection. From the first month (not so often) modem was stop responding (all lights it was ON but no internet connection) till to restart the pc and the modem. The last 2 weeks the i ve got exactly the same problem 3-4 times per day. My flatmate got BB connection as well (different box) and he doesn't got any problem at all!!! . After a little research on the internet the first thing i did it was to disconnect the modem from the USB ports an to connect it with the ethernet card but no luck:( . Finally after a long research on the internet i found your forum :) and I hope here to find some good answers;) . I have already run the ntl diagnostics and look what i foung on the event log:

That is a poorly cable modem - give tech support a call Monday on 0845 6500 121 and they should get a technician out to you.

Basically there is a problem with your cable modem and the power levels signal quality from ntl to yourself, or with the cable modem itself, illustrated well by the errors above.

good advice that is that , the strange thing is , when i had a problem yesterday , i rang what used to be my local number and i was told to ring 0800 whatever and i was put thru to t.s. without it costing me anything , does this now mean t.s. is free ?????????

Teaser - you could have given us all this 0800 number in full instead of leaving us all dangling :D

mate the same has happened to me on my ntl 200. Al lights are on apart form the upstream light. it was like that for weeks but now it seems fine. I think it happened because they have upgraded all the broadbands in our case up to 300k.

0800 052 2000 is the magic number for those who don't know. :)

and it would now appear that you get put thru to t.s. via the menu choices , instead of having to ring a different number , free t.s. what is the world coming to :disturbd:
