umm,... i got a random email saying

"sign this petition against ntl as they have a 1gb cap which they first said they woudnt have"

is this true tho i dont really care as i dont get much surfing done as im getting prob,s anyway is there one , just had it on my mind:banghead: :shocking:

Yes it is, but it's not overly enforced .... If you do a search on the site, I'm sure you'll find lots of info ;)

NTL has a 1GB reasonable usage guidance limit. If in a particular day you need to download 2Gb the network will not stop you, there is apparantly monitoring software in place such that if you consistently breach the 1GB limit (supposedly 3 consecutive days or 3 days in 15 or something like that) you will get a letter requesting you modify your usage behaviour.

Sight of these letters is few and far between, to the extent that many consider those seen to be fakes.

So yes they do, but not really. Put your problems (NTL ones anyway) in another post, there may well be someone here that can help.

oo i thought it was one of those caps which stop you from surfing compleaty once you breach the 1gb. by the way how much browsing is 1gb a day? if anyone knows

1gb is more browsing than you can possibly do in a day. To go over the 1gb you need to be downloading a lot of stuff or listening to a lot of broadband-quality internet radio.
