Hi folks,
Has anyone expericened major connection problems with ntl in or around the Colchester area? I seem to have the crappyest connection in the world, so it seems anyway.
I spent a good amount of time on irc, and I have terrible conenctions to servers located in London and in Germany. I connect to the server, and like within 10 mins or so, I get disconnected, I reconnect and then disconnect again. It does not happen every time. I can be online for a few or more and it fine. Seems to be intermitant. I am not getting attacked or anything I on the server there is host masking (hiding your ip/host with a fake one) and I also use a fireway and antivirus. Its not irc, I also get web pages unable to load, dns problems, and the email service is really shocking, I dont think I have had an single day where I have been able to check my email without email server conenction problems.
I have phoned the tech dept, twice, both times a complete waste of time, they said, can you ping www.bbc.co.uk (http://www.bbc.co.uk/) and 212.58.224.126 ? If your ping reply in anyway between 10ms and 25ms, your connection is fine.
Anyone have any ideas that I can try? So far this morning, since I have logged on this morning, I have been d/c 3 times, at the moment been on irc for over 20 mins without being d/c. I have a website that I am unable to view due to ntl cant find the dns for it.
