RG12 area problems ?

Evening all...

Browsing tonight is really slow, I am in Bracknell (RG12)..

Re-set my router (WRT54G), and the CM - no improvement...

playing CS:CZ is ok though - speed is fine :confused:

I ran Daniel Elwells speed checker and it reported :


ntl:World - 1Mb service Server Download:
178KB/s (1424Kb/s) - Superb - much higher than expected

Download through Transparent Cache:
179KB/s (1432Kb/s) - Superb - much higher than expected


which looks pretty good, however browsing is painfully slow..

over 1 minute to load up my banks website - 34 seconds to load the forum homepage :Yikes: (and this feels faster than earlier).


I have changed proxies to guildford9 and winnersh4 with no effect.

I have checked the NTL server status page, nothing (when it eventually loaded), checked with some friends in another region - they are ok.

Any ideas/pointers gratefully received. :nworthy:

typical - once I finally get the post done - everything goes back to normal.... (even without alternate proxies).....
