When I right click and select PASTE in my browser I am getting this URL
http://master.mx-targeting.com/mx/servlet/MXTarget?adcontext=http://www.yahoo.co.uk/&contextpeak=0&contextcount=0&countrycodein=UK&lastAdTime=0|0|0|0|0|0|&lastAdCode=6&cookie1=capdate%3D0917%26capdatedy%3D0909%26lupgtr y%3D1%26lupgid%3D153%26lupgdt%3D109476514

Even though I have never seen the place before I am just wondering what it is. Virus maybe? If it is Nortaons 2004 has not picked it up...

Download Hijack this (http://www.download.com/HijackThis/3000-8022-10307556.html?tag=lst-0-5) and then run it.

See what it comes up with and then if theres any refernce to that line select it and delete it.

Try selecting some other text and paste it into eg Wordpad, then leave it for a while and try again.

If the URL pops up again after a few tries it sounds like you've definitely got some malware lurking.

You can visit http://www.symantec.com and select their "Security check" feature (bottom left IIRC) which will scan your computer for viruses, trojans etc.

You should also get a program like Adaware or Spyware Blaster etc to scan for other rogue processes.
