What Can I Do To Optimize!!!

This is my first post ever as you can see.
I was just wondering what sorta tweeks i can do to increase the speed of my NTL 750K BB Service, with an Ntl Home 200, ambit modem. THAT ARE LEGAL.

Also For Info Purposes only, what tweaks are there that are illegal.
And What Can I do To make sure I keep a good,reliable connection.

I know these questions have been answered in many different ways, but i want my own, lol, thanks in advance.


And, to the Matt person that posts here regular, are you an NTL phone techhie, if you are i have a wierd feeling i know you!!!

Hello Albert and :welcome: to the forums

You can tweak your pc to get the best out of your pc but officially there is no legal tweak for the modem. If you are having speed issues do a speed test and post them here. the members who work for NTL will look and ask you to contact them if their is a problem that they need to look at.
I am on 750K
This is one I did just now I get good speeds late at night but can be slow during the day.

Do you use USB to connect your PC to the cable modem, or do you use ethernet?

An ethernet connection is more stable than a USB connection, & uses less resources.

Also Sorry for asking about the illegal stuff. It was honestly for info though, i just hear so much crap about "dude i uncpped my modem" im just wondering how they do this sorta stuff.

Im defintly NOT wanting to do it, I LOVE MY INTERNET, Couldnt think about loosing it.

I just sat in the corner rocking backwards and forwards the 3 days my NTL went out, (in between about 15 phone calls, literally) there are some real helpful people on The NTL lines, Except quite a few are quite frankly basic in there info and silly.

W00t I got in witht the FMT lol
