I tried connecting my cable modem to my onboard LAN port, on the PC it says its connected and everything, but it wont let me use the internet, so its connected fine to the computer as the computer confirms it, but not connected to the internet, i then tried my PCI LAN card, and it works fine on there!!! I also tried USB, and it also works fine on there, what could be wrong?? I've installed all the drivers, for my LAN, the cable modem too, but it just wont let me connect :(. The PCI LAN card is meant for my home network so i cannot use that, and all the USB ports are requierd else where, so could you please help me out, thanks!

P.S - I use the Silver 120 modem.

Have you tried re-booting your PC and the modem?

did you reboot the cable modem before connecting to the onboard lan?

what ip address are you getting when you connect to the onboard?

and :welcome: to the site :)

Thanks for replying guys. I've rebooted both my PC and modem, but not before connecting to the onboard LAN, it booted up fine in the PCI LAN, i then connected to onboard, didnt work, then back to the PCI and it worked fine, and when i do connect it to the onbord, it says <Unavailable> under IP, subnetmask and the other one.

when connected to the onboard, open a dos prompt and type ipconfig /renew

what is the error message that it gives you?

Have you got the onboard LAN enabled in the BIOS?

When i type in ipconfig /renew in the command promt thing and press enter, nothing happens, the underscore just keeps blinking, but if i do in my PCI network card, it shows my IP and the other things, also, the onboard is enabled.

Have you bound your onboard LAN to TCP/IP?
