Apparently listening to anything by Radiohead is a medically-recognised cure for any kind of insomnia....

Oh come on Russ.I'm sitting in front of the fan and I'm really reluctant to go to bed. When I do I know I won't sleep.

Maybe a drink is a good idea....rummaging around I have Gin but no tonic,Tequila or Campari.Guess it will have to be a Stella then........Anyone want one? :drunk:

I've been up most the night because someone was in my bed - just can't sleep when it's occupied. The heat hasn't helped any. I got all excited when it chucked it down at about 4 am - "Hurray - nice and cool" - only it didn't go nice and cool, it went humid :( I'm tired. Flaming allergy is playing up too because of the fan blowing dust around. I hate summer

It's too hot and humid.

It was 26C outside at 1am this morning (cooled down to 21C this morning). All the rooms in my house were 30C plus last night and are only slightly better this morning (28.6C where I'm sitting atm). It's not just the heat though, it's the humidity that's bad - we really need a good storm to clear some of the moisture from the air.

can not knock the heat its something we never get thought sod it and had a bbq at 1 am this morning still was 75f outside then

i agree i hate summer...... it's far too hot in my room.... for some reason before i moved back from uni a year ago dad moved a fridge freezer into my room, im guessing it gives off a bit of heat...... my room is hotter than it is outside

think it is raining outside now....

When I went to bed last night it began to rain.I've moved my bed over by the window so I left the window and curtains open and the air cooled enough for me to get some sleep. :tu:

Until 8am when the fecking builders arrived in the school behind me that is.They make more noise than the builders currently building a house next door to me. whom are currently sitting in their pickup waiting for the rain to stop. :)

I gather that there has been flooding in wales. Is it as bad as they reckon on the weather report?

It's cooler this morning but it won't last I'm sure. :(

I thought that you had a lot of fans, which one are you talking about? :D :D

Being serious though, I have never known it so hot and sticky here as it is this year. Everything seems to be changing, and fast. We are getting a lot more windy weather than I can ever remember and winters don't seem the same as they used to. Where has all the snow gone these winters that we used to get?

Last night was the first night that I've had a decent sleep for about a fortnight (mind you, I was a teeeeny bit the worse for wear after several too many    ).

It's getting cooler here now - it rained in Scunny for about half an hour earlier so, fingers crossed, it won't be quite as muggy as it was :)

PMSL.

A bit of heat and humidity and everyone complains. You want to try 6 months in Iraq in the summer, with 45C + heat. Or 6 months in Belize, 30 - 40 C every day and 80 - 100% humidity. Now thats HOT !!!!

hot? HOT? its been raining non stop here since about 7pm yesterday. buses have been cancelled and everything, its the first time my GRANNY can remember some parts of this town flooding, and she is almost 80 and has lived here all her life...

A series of flood warnings were also put in force along the River Aire and the Calder at Mirfield.
ive never personally heard of the calder having a flood warning in place...
