hi, im on 512k broadband with Demon. Now i phoned them over a week ago to tell them that i cancelled the account on the 7th of July. As a result they didnt so i phoned them again over a week ago to find out whats going on with the cancellation. They said to me there was a backlog. Im still stuck with the service and tonight the 512 is acting like 56k narrowband.

When they cancel this im going back to AOL, and ordering their 512k service.

This post is a bit confusing.

You phoned a week ago to tell them you cancelled on July 7th - how can you phone up and say you 'cancelled' four weeks ago - what have you been using for the past four weeks ???.

You phoned over a week ago to find out what is happening - but this is before the above phone call to 'cancel' ???

and you want to go back to AOL :erm:

Right my dads gonna phone Demon tonight to find out whats going on with the cancellation. He's ****ed off with AOL because they charged him when we were supposed to be getting a months free trial. he wants to go with Virgin for BB. Has anyone had any experience with them or are you all NTL customers?

have a look on http://www.adslguide.org and compare a few ISP's .. the performance is updated all the time with user feedback

comparison page: http://www.adslguide.org/isps/compare.asp

I suggest personally that you try one of these that I've selected: here (http://www.adslguide.org/isps/compare.asp?easynet=ON&nildram=ON&pipex=ON&plusnet=ON&virginnet=ON&freeserve=ON&cmp_action=Compare)

Why don't you just go for a proper ISP instead of all these manky ones. http://www.nildram.co.uk or http://www.zenadsl.co.uk

yeah, nildram are fairly consistently recommended... especially for gamers as they host the "jolt" network

I would also recommend Pipex, they have been superb for me since November 2003. :tu:

But do what the others have already suggested, & go to ADSLGuide & compare them. :)

Yeah, and try to avoid Pipex unless you want your dad to slap you upside the head when they p*ss him off ;)

:Yikes: I applied online for the Home 500 package at £17.99 p/m on November 2nd, I had already applied for OneTel Broadband. However, I discovered that OneTel had omitted to inform me that the cost including my BT line rental would have pushed my costs to almost £40 p/m.

:disturbd: I explained this to Demon and they told me that I would have get OneTel cancelled at BT, so that Demon could go ahead with the line check. During this time I kept phoning the Demon status line which said, and still does say the go-ahead will be on 18th November. :erm:

:o At first I was happy to accept this, until I happened to phone the Demon Broadband line. Who said the line will be active on 26th November! I immediately called BT who told me that the line will be clear for my Demon connection from 11th November. So what the hell is happening? :td:

:p: If I could afford to wait any longer, I might see my error of not opting for a Broadband provider who actually cares. But I feel that I have waited long enough in this instance.

 By the way, I used to work for AOL, and I had always thought they were bad with customer waiting times for Broadband and attitude.

:bigcry: I donââ‚Âà ‚¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢t expect that you will get back to me, but I shall wait and see, as i'm getting just a little ****ed off.
