All teachers use this formula for passing on information-

Tell them your going tell them.

Tell them.

Tell them you've told them.

This works anywhere.

News to me, 24 years of teaching experience and frankly anyone using this excuse would not last very long, beleive me.

And me. Particularly if the pupils cannot demonstrate evidence of the information being passed on to the satisfaction of their parents, fellow colleagues and OFSTED.

There's a big difference between casting information onto the air for pupils to 'take in' and making sure that they have actually learnt it and appreciate its significance.

Most teachers spend a lot of time discussing concepts, ideas and information with pupils and give them plenty of practical applications of their usage.

It's not just about remembering information. It's about understanding and acting upon information, as well as having the skills to acquire, process and output it in a required form.

Totally agree with the comments and understanding the key objective.
The formula,in a world of so much information,is too flag a particular important piece to enhance understanding.

The best bit and the point of the post this method is useful in many situations.

As I understanding it, it's a method for public speaking, not teaching.
