Footprints and not feetprints (except for the case of Long John Silver)?

Toothbrush and not teethbrush?

A near miss and not a near hit?

That there's British Summer Time but not British Winter Time?

Never hilarious when you hit your funny bone?

That I seem to have far too much time on my hands? :)

Toothbrush and not teethbrush?

Which reminds me: How many teeth does it take to make a tube of toothpaste?

Edit: or babies for a flask of baby oil... :)

I was thinking before when sorting out my clothes, why a "pair" of knickers ??

I was thinking before when sorting out my clothes, why a "pair" of knickers ??Because womens (and probably mens) underwear used to consist of two 'tubes' of material joined by a tiestring.....hence 'a pair' :)

Footprints and not feetprints (except for the case of Long John Silver)?

As bipeds, humans in the course of movement only place one foot down at a time. In the rare event of actually standing at true rest, both feet are creating an individual footprint, thus a pair of footprints rather than a feetprint.

Toothbrush and not teethbrush?

Good point - I dunno either

A near miss and not a near hit?

I almost had a response to this - it was a close call

That there's British Summer Time but not British Winter Time?

BST is a variation on GMT, so Winter time = default = GMT

Never hilarious when you hit your funny bone?

It is, to an ousider or 3rd party witness :D

That I seem to have far too much time on my hands? :)

Another interesting conundrum beyond the scope of this article.

Why is the item you cant find, always in the last place you look? ;)

Russ
