The new AOL advert is specifically about broadband caps. It makes a big point of the caps 'other' bb suppliers have and shows off that its unlimited unlike the others (ie ntl)

Isn't AOL running on the NTL network ? Maybe I'm wrong and if so feel free to shame me but I'm sure that was the case.

To me, this is simple.

AOL negotiated a wholesale price for space on the network and bandwidth. They are then entitled to restrict or not restrict their customers as they see fit, because they (AOL) are paying for what they use.

BT ADSL has a cap now, but in similar fashion, AOL ADSL does not have that cap, despite the fact that AOL ADSL uses BT's network in the same way that AOL Cable uses ntl's network.

Yet as usual, all we are hearing about is how ntl have to 'explain' this. No they don't. In the same way that BT don't. It's a wholesale arrangement.
