I've just tried to e-mail someone, but the message was bounced with the following comments:

This Message was undeliverable due to the following reason:

Your message was not delivered because the return address was refused.

The return address was '<graham@affordable-leather.co.uk>'

Please reply to Postmaster@ntlworld.com
if you feel this message to be in error.

Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 5.7.1 This system is configured to reject mail from 62.253.162.48 (Host blacklisted - see http://www.mail-abuse.org/)

Now I've just had a look around the website given but it claims that "The IP address 62.253.162.48 does not appear on the MAPS RBL." so I really have no idea what's going on.

Anyone got any ideas?

No you're right. Odd. I checked the main blacklists and only found this: http://dsbl.org/listing?62.253.162.48 but your error message makes no mention of that list, unless it references it somehow. Odd.

The NTL mail server you were using Graham was blacklisted for spam abuse.

It happened to my dad recently. All of a sudden, his e-mail volume shot down and he got a load of calls saying e-mails were bheing returned for "abuse". He called up thinking the abuse was on his side (I told him someone might of guessed his password and spamming through it), but TS told him that the person sending the e-mail was the abuser. Apparently, there is no way to turn it off, or alter it. They just have to send it from a different server. I thought this was incredible. Noone on BTOpenworld can send him email now it seems.

Here is the part of the e-mail he sent me, with the abuse error report in:

> From: <postmaster@btconnect.com>
> To: <*******@btconnect.com>
