anyone else being really effected by the ntl maintenence , all week my internet has been so slow and being really annoying the download speeds are normal for me but the browsing just sucks :@

Knowing exactly where you are would be helpful too - possibly a MAC address if you can PM one to me, or a public IP would be handy

I had these problems when they were doing maintenance, change your proxy and all should be fine :D

Today SK6 area and I keep losing connection to the gateway.

It will work for a while then vanish, a ping just times out. I seem to have this problem most times any network work is done even if my area is not specified in the maintenance notes. Very frustrating especially when you are trying to fill in forms over the 'Net.

And before anyone asks, yes I have reported it, 3 times in the space of 2 hours !

Two attempts by techies was to swap primary and secondary DNS server IP addys around and a change in proxy server.

Although the techies were very helpful neither of the suggestions made any difference.

this (http://www.broadbandspeedtest.net/) speedtest might point to any problems , or try 62.254.128.4 port 8080 as a proxy , if this works then i would keep checking that you are ok without it regularly so as to not overload the good proxy if you see what i mean :)

It's common, in my experience, for things to be bad during and after maintenance. I always cringe when the status page mentions Leeds. My browsing has been bad for weeks but I'm certain it's DNS related :(
