Did you see how quick they switched to the adverts ?? Was that just in case something happened ???

QOTD from Bernie Ecclestone when asked about the incident
"It probably was not necessary, it was an exciting race without that"

I dont think the UK will have another GP at Silverstone! The organisation of it is totally crap compared to other countries. The next UK GP will probablr be at Donnington again like 1993.

I think thats a bit harsh matty, they have made big improvements to the infrastucture over the last year & there are more in the pipeline.

It's been said before that you can't make something idiot proof until you can predict quite how idiotic they can be - I think that bloke today proved that!

I, personally hope it stays at Silverstone, whatever the circumstances it was great racing, the best this season imo.:)

- and if it came to it I'd prefer Brands Hatch to Donington.:p

Im just going with the fact the FIA don't seem to want it at Silverstone anyway and uncle Bernie now thinks sercurity is crap there too lol! :D No British GP it is then ;)

I think you may be right there - it's a political spat - and I don't think Bernie should have the influence he has in the sport - I may be wrong, but look at what Don King did to boxing?

The grid discussion between Martin Brundle as the chairman of the British Motor Racing Drivers Association & Mr Mosely from FIA was quite interesting, though.:)

If Bernie can be taken at his word then Silverstone should be ok for a while, providing the funds are found

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/3081905.stm

Ecclestone said on Sunday that he would guarantee the British Grand Prix's place on the F1 calendar until 2015 as long as track owners the British Racing Drivers' Club and race promoters Octagon found the funds to finance the improvements he wants.

And he said after the race that the security scare would not affect any decision taken on the Silverstone's future.

I'd prefer Brands Hatch, but I think Bernie Eccelstone hates the circuit.

On the cut to the adverts, I was watching it and it seemed certain that they were already going into the commercials when the picture suddenly cut to the shot of the man on the track and you heard "oh...!" from Martin Brundle that was cut off as the Toyota sponsorship pictures cut in.

Although as one of the commentators pointed out "The car in front *is* a Toyota"! It was just wierd seeing De Matta leading a GP!!

A final point, god must *really* have it in for David Coulthard!
