Quick question, my parents have just had ntl broadband installed, and I went round there to register it for them (okay not a mega complicated operation but they'd prefer I did it), but there was an error along the lines of 'can't find your account details'. Anyway I rang up, and the account details are correct but there is a temporary fault which I was told would be fixed at some point. I went back a little while ago and it's still not fixed, hours later.

Anyway, my question is.. can I register my parents' new broadband account from *my* PC, in my home? (I have ntl broadband also). Or does it have to be done from the PC and modem in question? If the former that would be great as I could keep trying it at home to get it done asap.

Thanks in advance for your help with this :)

Here's the problem btw:

ntl Broadband Registration (Resolved)
ntl broadband internet customers attempting to register the service may currently be unable to complete registration, and may see error messages such as "Unable to locate your details" when trying to do so.

Our engineers are aware of the issue and are working towards a resolution.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

This has now been resolved.

Well it says it's now been resolved so I'll go down there and try again :o But if it doesn't I'll make a note of their PIN number so I can register from here, if those here who know say it would work.

you have to register using the cable modem, because it will verfiy the modem during the registration process.

If you are having problems registering through the cd, try the registration page instead: https://autoreg.autoregister.net
