[Cable Forum Team]

We'd like to welcome those that are are new to the site and continue to thank all the members for all the support you've given us since we have been live, Friday 20th June 2003. Already we have over 29,500 registered members which we see as a clear indication of the need for this site and the freedom of speech** it will allow.

**Freedom of speech, meaning to a significant extent, that everyone is entitled to post their views in the context of the forum subject matter. What isn't permitted is abusive, objectionable and offensive posts. These may be edited and or deleted at any time, with or without an explanation.

In serious circumstances and if the Cable Forum Team feel a serious breach of the sites terms of use has occurred, we have absolutely every right to temporarily and or permanently remove such users abilities to post.

We have to consider the long term future of the site and in doing so, for the sake of you and us together, and for the sake of creating a place that you'll feel comfortable visiting, we have just a few realistic guidelines which we expect everyone to adhere to whilst using this site and you'll all understand are for the benefit of everyone.

We definately don't want to impose strict rules on anyone here, but we do need to maintain this forum on a daily basis and by doing so, we need to ensure that all members follow these guidelines. We cannot have some people spoiling or disrupting the forum for others. Any such persons committing such an act, will face the appropriate consequences for doing so.

The following guidelines are in place during your use of Cable Forum:

• DO NOT argue with a Team Request or Decision.
  If a team member has to make a request or take any action in a thread - Members are not permitted to argue or complain with this action publicly. If there are concerns or you do not agree with a specific decision from a team member, you must first direct your complaint to that team member via private message. Please consider that ALL team actions are usually always considered final and are not open to public scrutiny or debate. To put it simply, we did not spend money or time setting up this site for some people to abuse: i) The site. ii) The people that use the site. iii) The team that run the site.
  
  Abusive replies, to any team member will not be tolerated!
  
• DO NOT spam the site with links to other sites. This includes sending unsolicited private messages to other members.
  We do not allow advertising of other commercial sites by spam. *Personal* sites in signatures are okay. If we detect a member using their signature to promote another third party site, we may, at our discretion, request you to remove the link in question. No linking to obscene or offensive content whatsoever. If you are unsure please always ask the team first. Blatant spammers, don't waste our time and consequently, your own.
  
• DO NOT use offensive or bad language.
  This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY, orientated discussion forum, which is used by all age groups, including minors, therefore - all members need to consider this by trying to be constructive when relaying views to one another. There should be absolutely no need to resort to swearing. Treat others, how you expect to be treated!
  
• DO NOT abuse each other.
  DON'T get into any personal arguments with other people on the site. Try and make use of the smilies to better express what your words may mean. If anyone has a problem with any members posts, use the reported post feature using the button located on every other members posts.
  
• DO keep posts to the site on topic within threads.
  Always try and refer to the first post in a thread and respond to that or another post talking about the same subject. Ignore posts that are off topic as we may remove them anyway to keep the threads on topic and enjoyable for all.
  
• DO post new threads within the forum areas that we have made available for various subjects.
  For example, please post anything concerning digital TV in the cable TV, and not in our broadband area. We'll move threads that are in the wrong place but we would appreciate your cooperation in keeping them to the correct areas.

The purpose of this site is to provide a place for cable customers such as Virgin Media to freely air their views on the products or services that they receive, and the customer service or technical support experiences that they encounter. Our intention, with the help and support you're already showing us, is to create a one-stop-shop for all things Virgin Media related.
