Summary
This article explains how you can make use of ntl?s online services to check or upgrade your cable modem service level.
More Information
You can check the provisioned speed of your cable modem, known as the Tier of service, by going to the following URL:
You will need to enter your primary ntlworld username and password and the website should then tell you what tier of cable modem service you are currently receiving. This is not the speed of the cable modem, but what speed your service is provisioned as on ntl?s system.
You can also upgrade your speed online by visiting this URL:
https://autoreg.autoregister.net/cgi/cabletier
ntl do not allow you to downgrade you cable modem tier online, and instead you must take the time out of your day to phone up and have a CSR do it for you. You should also note that, as far as we know, once you have upgraded the tier you cannot change it again until your next billing month.
Apparently, these online services only work for standalone cable modems at this time, so if you have a STB cable modem then you have to ring up.
