Virgin not to stock Iphone 4s

Quote:
Virgin refuses to stock Apple smartphone

Thursday 13th October 2011

Virgin has said it will not be selling the latest Apple smartphone through its stores.

The new iPhone 4S is set be released in the UK within days but speaking to the t3 website, director of mobile at Virgin Media Jamie Heywood said the company would not be hosting the device.

This is despite the main five mobile phone networks in the UK - and smaller providers like Tesco Mobile - saying they will do.

"At the moment we haven't got a plan to launch the iPhone 4S but we continue to look into it," he stated, although he acknowledged that the Apple product is a "great device" that many Virgin Media customers will buy.

Mr Heywood said that the decision not to host the 4s will be reviewed regularly.

Launching the device earlier this month, Apple called it "the most amazing iPhone yet ".

It features elements such as a dual-core A5 chip, an all-new eight megapixel camera and optics, iOS 5 and iCloud.
This could be the killer for me to move companies come the end of my contract in March. Shame as some great tariffs on Virgin Mobile

The phone starts at a cost of £499 sim free. Quite a bit to shell out

Re: Virgin not to stock Iphone 4s

If you want it that badly, lol.

I'm happy with my GS2 on VM just now, and have the iPad 2 for my iOS fix. If the iPhone 4S had been improved with a new chasis and larger screen it may have changed my mind about it it its not worth it imo.

Yes thats a lot to shell out for a phone and although its a excellent phone its is at least £150 overpriced and is it any better then the other phones on the market.

Re: Virgin not to stock Iphone 4s

Only problem with buying an IPhone 4 is that they use the mini sim card which Virgin don't do.
The IPhone 3GS uses the normal size sim and can be brought at a reasonable price.

Sim cutters are cheap on eBay or you can use scissors if you're careful

It is overpriced.

I havent made my mind up yet. Still cant decide between the iphone 4, 4s or even the Samsung Galaxy 2 which Virgin do for free on £27.99 with 500 minutes a month. Price alone cant be beat compared to the iphone.

Contract I have at the moment is up Feb 14th. Does anyone know how soon you can upgrade with Virgin?

Re: Virgin not to stock Iphone 4s

Its about time V Mobile started supporting micro sim as so many future handsets use it. Are unlikely to see the Motorola Razr on V Mobile as that is a micro sim handset also.
