Network busy message!

I use my virgin mobile only occasionally so was surprised when I got a 'network busy' message on Saturday and found I couldn't make a call from my train in Glasgow. (Yes - there was a lot going on in Glasgow that day and a lot of traffic disruption, so more calls would be getting made.)

Couldn't get a line until we were several miles outside town. Does this happen regularly, or only in very isolated cases?

Was getting worried as I was getting collected from an unmanned station and was to phone when I knew which train I was travelling on.

Re: Network busy message!

Did you try switching the phone off then on again?

I was in Galsgow all day on Saturday (shopping, not taking part in that disruptive nonsense) and had no phone connection issues.

Re: Network busy message!

I've been with virgin 4 years or more I can't recall ever getting network busy messages until 4 or 5 months back & now seen to get one every couple of weeks. I'm wondering if it's a knock on effect from network merge?

Re: Network busy message!

Didn't actually switch off, but ended call and retried every few minutes until I got a line about 15 minutes later. Husband is also on Virgin and he tried his phone once with same 'network busy' message.

This was happening around 12.30 pm.
