Nokia N8 for only £15.32 pm

Just noticed that the Nokia N8 is now free with a £15.32 pm contract (for 24 months) to Virgin Media customers. 6 months ago I would have snapped that up in a heartbeat. Symbian is now a dead OS walking and I wouldn't go near it.

I hope they are trying to get rid of stock in preparation for getting the Samsung Galaxy S2 or the HTC sensation.

Re: Nokia N8 for only £15.32 pm

I think the Galaxy SII is coming next month.

I would still consider the N8 as there is apparently a big update coming soon that will transform the symbian OS and make it a little bit usable.

The phone itself is a brill piece of hardware.

I have the N8 and it does exactly what I require of it and the wifi on it is brilliant and out performs many laptops with its range, I also use the camera a lot with it being 12mp for which i have installed Camerapro which makes it even more usable in my opinion.

Would that be an update to the Symbian platform or something specific to the N8?

Re: Nokia N8 for only £15.32 pm

If the big update is "SYMBIAN ANNA" Then it will be pretty good for symbian.

But how much life does symbian have now Microsoft and NOKIA have partnered up? Microsoft will almost certianly want NOKIA to put all there effort into the new "super" windows phones.

I would hold off right now getting a Symbian phone. If its NOKIA you want just wait and see what Microsoft and NOKIA come up with in the next few months.
