How long for a sim only to arrrive

Just about to switch from 02 to Virgin, ordered a sim only two days ago but still not had anything turn up. I thought these were dispatched immediately or it was on 02, is it not the same for Virgin. Thought they would be biting off the hands of new customers to get them signed up, obviously not.

I think it may well just be the post - They usually use Royal Mail for the sim cards.
My post just lately has been apallingly slow, still waiting for lots of things.

I've had both phones & sim cards in the past & always received them very promptly.

Yes some post does seem to be slow,it obviously is not sent out first class as should of arrived by now, will have to hang on in there.

It all depended on how you ordered it ( online or over the phone ). As when i worked for O2 if you ordered online it took about 48 - 72 hours for dispatch and also if you ordered over the phone it took about 24 - 48 hours for the sim card to be dispatched. Also O2 used royal mail to dispatch sim cards as well.

Took 7 days in the end for sim to arrive, and now two days to transfer old number over to new contract.

Sounds about right to me. My wife had to order a new PAYG SIM for her new phone as the old one wouldn't work in it. We were told it'd take a few days to arrive but it never did so we had to call Virgin again and order another. Second time around the new SIM came within a few days.

Well after the two days switched on mobile and found no network, thought is this it, so took out old sim and replaced with Virgin, switched back on and all worked to plan and my old number kept made it a good start to a new network.

Just ordered another sim for parter, only took two days to arrive. Impressed, the hard bit paying for phone to be unlocked.
