Is Virgin Mobile using T-Mobile network?

I tried my Virgin SIM card on my O2 XDA. It shows 'T-Mobile'?!
What network Virgin mobile is using? I ask because I will buy a second-hand 3-G hand-set from eBay.
Thanks!

Sorry not tried a virgin mobile sim card in a locked T-Mobile phone.

But this link seems to suggest you should be ok and the virgin sim you have will work in a T-Mobile phone.

I wish I had known this when Virgin were offering free sims.

Yes it will - which I didn't know until I tried it

But apparently it doesn't work the other way around. A Virgin locked phone won't accept a T-Mobile SIM
