K800i Accessing Internet

I love my K800i, had a few other phones but have always come back to it. I'm on the Vm 200/200 package, and my internet settings are all fine. Now I've had trouble lately with it accessing the internet itself, it doesn't do it on the phone, but it shows on my bill and also has the 'web' logo (blue and green globe) lit at the top of my phone quite often. Now I know its not me making a mistake, cos some of them are about 3 am in the morning! I now havd 5 30p charges this month, what the hell is going on?

Re: K800i Accessing Internet

I'm guessing it's not necessarily accessing the 'Internet' as in the WWW, but rather that it's accessing the data service for some reason and that this is the charge you're seeing.

Do you have it set to retrieve emails automatically, or have any other application running that might be polling for updates?

Check your apps, some "free" apps go online for ads.
Also, turn bluetooth off when you are not using it, just in case it is being bluejacked and connecting due to that.
Check for feeds, anything else that may be going off automatically.

3am? don't you turn it off overnight?
