The new Sky+ designer range. One word, UGLY!
Nice to see Sky spending the customers money on usefull things, like a tripping designer who paints boxes.
Thats bumped up the look of the V+, IMHO.
I mean, who in their right minds will buy these?!

People want black/silver boxes to go with the rest of their AV equipment, why would they buy these? Even white stands out quite badly

Unless these designers designed your TV and DVD Recorder, there is a massive chance that this equipment is probably not going to fit ANYWHERE.
The first one, in particular, Id be worried about Kids getting hold of it and thinking it was a toy!

Or, the other way to look at it is that at least Sky are trying to do something different.. There are (IMO) far to many electronics companies who just manufacture bland (or even ugly) looking boxes that are Black/White/Gray/Silver.
Not saying that everyone would want an STB with a design as extreme as the ones above, but a little variation in colour would be nice. Bear in mind that different colours can go well together. You don't have to have all the devices the same colour (well, you do atm because you can't mix and match the limited selection of colours available now).

Given that these boxes tend to be just one in the middle of a stack, having the "artwork" on the top of it is just wasted anyway!

I mean. Sky have many rights, so plaster do 20 Premier League ones!
Sure, youd need about 3,000,000 Man United Glory Hunter ones... about 1,700,000 for the Glory hunter "arent gonna win anything again" Chelsea ones... about 1,500,000 for the Arsenal (cant say anything really) and about 50 for every other club.
Better still, ITS YOUR BOX, SO PAINT IT HOWEVER THE F*CK YOU WANT! :P
