Fifa

As FIFA have decided to ignore the real problems in football and focus on the Zidane / Materazzi nonsense have they now set a dangerous precident?

Will we now see the victims of violent assault on the pitch be investigated for provocation and banned if it is thought that they might have provoked the assailant?

Materazzi did admit he made comments. I think FIFA should be able to decide if there was provocation and if their was then it should be delt with depending on what exactly the provocation was

But surely everytime someone assaults someone there is provocation. Does that mean from now on that the victim will also be banned? Who is to say what provocation is OK and what isn't?
