It would make the lower end of the league more exciting, or even make a British cup

Re: Would you like to see Celtic and Rangers in the English league?
Yes.
From the purely selfish point of view, as a Celtic supporter I find the prospect of regular fixtures against the top English sides very appealing.
I know many supporters of the top EPL teams would prefer seeing their teams play Celtic or Rangers than some of the the Yoyo teams from the Championship.
There is an added advantage for Mancunians that Rangers supporters now know where the public toilets are

heard it on the news in the background so wasn't realy paying much attention .Just reading the full story it appears the administrators will be called in to secure the future of the club if possible .If the club can sort out the £49 million tax bill they may survive

The one thing that I actually agree with the Chairman is that Rangers will be back in a far stronger position than they have been for the last couple of seasons.

They are very likely to survive, but how will be the question. It's a good time to start from the bottom and this time in the English leagues.

I agree ,would letting them into the English leagues set precedent for other scottish clubs to follow leading to a merger of the 2 FA's?

If Alex Salmond got his way, anyone suggesting it would be shot at dawn!

Aside from the tax bill which isn't a certainty yet i think financially they are in a better position than a lot of English clubs

Nah, The Scottish League would remain intact but without the two big fish swimming in their pond. It would probably take some restructuring and some loss in income for the clubs to start with but it would be a more balanced league. If they are smart they would introduce wage caps or something similar to maintain competitiveness.
My main concern about letting them in would be the fans. The derbies between the clubs are tiresome but I guess that's a matter for them.

Re: Would you like to see Celtic and Rangers in the English league?
The main problem in my eyes is that they would be displacing English clubs, whatever level they went in at (Blue Square Premier? ).
Surely it's better for the Scottish FA to work (neutrally) to help other clubs develop to be able to compete with the Old Firm?

The supporter base other clubs makes that unfeasible. Celtic and Rangers are 2 very large fish in a pond of tiddlers.
