I'm think it was in HD last year, maybe not. But I have seen snooker in HD recently.

The recent China Open was in HD on Eurosport, as is the WC 2010. and there is a difference in quality too.

I just hoped it was in HD on the BBC thats all..... i prefer the commentry.

Unlikely, Ted Lowe retired in the mid '90's, it happened during an episode of Pot Black during the early '80's IIRC, might even have been a match involving Steve Davis.

Found it - I was almost right.

This led to the infamously unhelpful quote from commentator Ted Lowe, who said: "Steve is going for the pink ball - and for those of you who are watching in black and white, the pink is next to the green."
