Whats wrong with friendlies, keeping the international sides fresh and a bit of research on the country your playing.

Plus you don't have to watch and also how is it interfering with the normal season.

There are no games this weekend. Every so often we have these stupid breaks which disrupt the flow the season which is what a lot of football fans care about, rather than a International Friendly.

So Instead of seeing if United bounce back, If Liverpool can stop the rot, If Arsenal can keep the pressure up, if Hull can move further clear of the bottom 3 with another win and if Man City will stop their run of draws we instead have a game of little consequence.

Re: England V Brazil

It makes sense to have an international break now.

The FIFA World Cup play-offs are going ahead regardless so teams will lose players to them. If we hadn't have qualified, we would have been playing 2 England matches via the qualifiers on Saturday and Wednesday.

Although this is a prestige friendly it keeps the national team fresh and give up-and-coming players a chance to win their place.

So it makes sense really.

Personally, none of that is as interesting or important as who qualifies for the World Cup. England may be playing a friendly, but Africa has it's final WC qualifiers and Europe has it's play-offs. Even if England weren't playing a friendly, the EPL still wouldn't be going ahead due to the many players missing for important matches and had England not done so well in the qualifiers, they could have been playing a massive match this weekend as well.

Call me crazy, but i'm more interested in a do or die match between Egypt and Algeria in front of 74'000 fans in Cairo (the magnitude of this rivalry and this particular match is hard to emphasis sufficiently, but see here) than Hull City vs West Ham in match 12 or 13 of 38.

If you apply the logic of your interest in Hull City, Man City, etc despite supporting Arsenal, to international level, then you'll be thoroughly entertained.
