Re: Football Close Season Thread
How are Real Madrid allowed to do this? I didn't think they had that kind of money available to them. They're doing a "Chelsea" again.

A spokesman for United's owners, the Glazer family, has told the BBC that the decision to sell Ronaldo was taken by solely by manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The spokesman said: "It was purely a football decision and had nothing to do with the financial structure of the club."
It is understood that the transfer fee would be made available for Ferguson to invest in the transfer market.

More like the championship then... ( j/k )
On a change of note slightly how much of celtics income is from setata? As reports suggest that upto 3 SPL clubs will fold if they go under.

I would imagine both Old Firm clubs will be fine with this. it's more likely the clubs lower down the league with less fans that survive on TV money alone

Ribery said he won't come to England because the weather is like it is in Germany.

Re: Football Close Season Thread
I'm a little gutted Ronnie finally decided .. sorry was allowed to leave but for £80 million i would drive him there myself. There is NO replacement for the best player in the world but i'm sure Ferguson has a plan and his plans certainly haven't failed us yet .

Nani? Sebastian-Veron? Forlan? SAF has dropped a clanger from time to time.

OK, as much as it pains me to say this - you've got some qwal-itee players, but his antics brought you down. Thats all i'm saying on the matter
