Re: Liverpool FC

if i remember correctly the rights for naming the new liverpool ground will also be up for sale same as the arsenal stadium (emirates), also for the last poster man city's ground was not named by the club as the ground is still owned by the council and was named before city moved in.

It is in Anfield, opposite the old stadium. But as kjacko says, corporate sponsorship will call the shots.

At least they're not going to the Tesco stadium, every little helps.

i thought it was in stanley park? (or is that part of anfield? i don't know much about liverpool if you didnt guess )

going off http://worldstadia.com/ws/show-page....&menuData=1369 it appears it will be called stanley park and goes with the point i was trying to make in the other post, stadium names usually have the name from where they are or who sponsored the building of it, eg southampton's stadium was originally "Friends Provident St. Mary's Stadium" but the Friends Provident part has been dropped now.

Stanley Park is in Anfield. In fact its Stanley Park that separates both Anfield and Goodison Park as they stand today.

are you lifelong liverpool fan or a "sky years" fan? because whilst i can understand your sentiment in not wanting to lose your current ground due to it history, but even though im not a liverpool fan i know that the area around the current stadium cannot be developed thus your club has to rebuild, also part of this is commercial driven due to the fact they cant develop anfield and thus raise its current capacity,if they dont raise it capacity they cant raise revenue and would stand still or go backward is this what you want?

obviously there are other factors i just addressed those i took from your comments.

Nobody knows what it's going to be called yet. It may well stay as Anfield.
