Trevor Brennan

Very Cantona-esque isn't it.

Quote:
Reports included the allegation that Brennan struck one Ulster fan several times after a group of supporters had heckled the forward over the state of the bar he runs in Toulouse.

The fans had evidently been drinking in his bar on Friday and Saturday evening. Brennan evidently marched 50 metres to the corner of the ground and then climbed onto the terraces.

A dozen security men were then deployed to police the area of the Stade Ernest Wallon Stadium, but that did not stop Gareth Thomas, the former Wales captain who also plays for Toulouse, from also remonstrating with the Ulster fans.

Toulouse, who won the dead pool game 28-13, then used Brennan, 33, as a substitute and after only a few minutes he was involved in a fierce brawl with Ulster Justin Harrison, the former Wallaby lock.

Re: Trevor Brennan

It seems as if it was more 'mother' comments that started it. - Link

I seriously doubt that he wasn't provoked by the fan who is claiming he did nothing wrong, but it's still no excuse to do that, during a match especially.

Re: Trevor Brennan

I personally know people who were at the match in Toulouse and have gone to about 90% of all Ulster home games for at least the last 8 years.

There was nothing shouted about his mother. It was all about his pub. Brennan is well know for being brought on for Ireland internationals to stir things up, thats when everyone takes bets as to how long he will last on the pitch. Usually its less than 10 minutes.

Glad to see that him and Gareth Thomas are both facing chargeds with the ERC. People seem to have it in for Ulster currently, glad that the ERC saw sense and cleared Matt McCullough of misconduct charges relating to alleged use of racist and abusive language. It will be interesting to see the outcome.

Re: Trevor Brennan

I hope the ban can include a ban from all elements of rugby, managing, coaching etc. He has *always* had anger management issues.

Also bodes well for Bamford going forward with his other cases.
