DHCP client list

hi new to networking, ive set up a belkin 4 port router on my machine and have connected 2 other desktop pc's to it, when i check the dhcp client list none of the other machine ip addresses appear can any1 hlp. The main reason i am having probs with connection when 2 or more machines are connected and 1 is playing internet games the game connection goes down i was thinking it had to do with the dhcp client list....PLZ HLP

Sounds stupid but...

Are both machines DHCP or have you specified an ip?
you *may* have specified the same ip hence you lose the connection

thanks for reply, mmm i havent assigned any ips im on dynamic...
damn this thing said it was easy lol, oh well think i might try a lynksys router...
