setting up wireless buffalo g54

hi,

i tried searching but couldnt find anything. i've bought the router and connected it up but th internet wont load up at all. i checked the diagnostics page and it shows the sacm dhcp, ip etc but says " communicating " which im guessing is with the ntl server but still nothing with regards to using the net.

ive tried rebooting the pc, sacam, router but still problem persists. does anyone else have a buffalo? if so then what did you do to get it working?

cheers

Re: setting up wireless buffalo g54

Have you powered everything off, power up the modem, wait for lights to lock/ settle, power up the router, wait for lights to lock/ settle and then power up the PC?

Re: setting up wireless buffalo g54

The wireless card IP should be in the range 169.264.0.xxx to match the LAN IP on the router.

Have you got your setup as:
modem <> ethernet <> router
then
router <> ethernet (or wireless) <> PC(s)?

You also need to enable the DHCP server on your router's LAN side, and allow your network card to automatically obtain it's IP address. Alternatively you must manually input an IP addy to your computer's network card, including subnet and gateway that matches the router's configuration.

Re: setting up wireless buffalo g54

Just an update to say its all working now!

Did a factory reset on the router and that did the trick! lol.

Thanks Paul, Zeph and Rob C for your help. It's very much appreciated

I had a different router, but my router played up when I first bought it. Factory reset did the trick right away.
