Router Problems

Hi,
Last week at two in the morning I lost me internet connection and after talking to tech support they said I had a faulty router. I have now purchased a new Sitecom router and connected it to my computer but I still cannot access the internet. Do I need to, after connecting the router up, turn off my terayon cable modem and then switch it back on again? Do I need to set up a network bridge between the two computers? Sorry I am not very technical when it comes to my computer!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you

Re: Router Problems

tech support said you had a faulty router, hmmm

I wonder if you can claim the cost of the router they made you buy back from them? Tell NTL you have a router and connection problems, guess what bit of hardware they blame??

I am sure someone will point you at some router help pages in the forum. Try a search there are loads!

Re: Router Problems

You do need to power off everything.
Then switch on the modem, wait for a minute for it to settle down, then power up the router, and once thats initialized, then power up your PC.

If that doesnt work, get back on to tech support and tell them it wasnt the router.
