Cant set up ftp server on ntl 10mb connection.
I have tried everything and every program it wont work. Even if i try a different port other than 21. Can anyone help me set up a working ftp server using ntl, I'm not running a router and have my firewall turned off it still doesn't work. I've even tried setting up a static DNS it still dont work !someone pls help?! thank u

Could you provide some more details?
What exactly is happening? Are you getting connection refused, timeouts etc etc?

Im using ntl 10 mb, and when i set up the ftp it says its connected... it just never works when i test it. or i get someone else to test it... i tested from a site and it said it connected but couldn't read

im testing it from here http://www.g6ftpserver.com/en/ftptest
this is the result i get
* About to connect() to xxxxx port 21
* Trying xxxxxxx... connected
* Connected to xxxxxxxxxx (xxxxxxx) port 21
* FTP response reading failed
* Closing connection #0
i cant access it from any ftp client either... i have set it for access via anonymous user

Do you have a firewall running (either on the PC or in a router)?

That including the windows firewall?
Are you possibly using ICS or anything like that at all?
Have you tried removing and reinstalling your FTP servers?

ive turned off the windows firewall, im not using LCS ( I dont actually know what it is but im pretty sure im not using it) and yeh i have tried reinstalling it several times and setting it up again but to no avail.

Does it work locally, i.e. on the PC you are running the ftp server on ? What ftp server are you using ?

try to connect to ftp://127.0.0.1
are you sure your entering your correct ip, not your net ip?

unless your pc is turned off at the moment you do appear to have somekind of firewall software running....
